John Popham's Dustbin (of thoughts)

Radio? There’s no future in it

I woke up early enough this morning to catch Radio 5 Live’s “Wake up to Money”. It was not a pleasant experience, as the whole programme was punctuated with schoolboyish giggling and guffawing over how silly everything on Twitter is, and it culminated with one of the presenters refusing to be persuaded to sign up to Twitter, adding that he thought it might have a role for business use, but individuals should keep away from it.

Based on this, I am now advising everyone I know to refrain from listening to the radio. If you’re a business, you might want to pay for an advert on a commercial station, but the rest of radio is just full of boorish rich men complaining that they haven’t been paid for 2 months. Of what possible use could that be?
